Two Groups in this Recession

If your phone rings and you don't answer it then you are in one group. If your phone rings and you answer it and smile cheerily and say things are going great, then you are in the other group. If you wake in the middle of the night and wonder why you are no longer valued then you are in one group. If you sleep like a baby and wake up refreshed ready for the day then you are in the other group.

If you contemplate renting a home and wonder if you will ever retire or if you will end up on the streets then you are in one group. If you look forward to your retirement and contemplate retirement homes and watch golf and tennis and think about vacations and contemplate new cars then you are quite obviously in the other group

If Seinfeld does not ring true to you anymore and seems as trivial and distant as an old Fred Astaire movies then you are in one group. If you watch reruns of Seinfeld and Friends and laugh alot and think about your youth then you are in the other group. If you don't go out to eat except to fast food restaurants and chains then you are in one group. If you still pay a hundred dollars for a meal and then take in a movie and don't give it a thought then clearly you are in the other group.

If the pundits call for radical reform and socialism and redistribution of wealth appeals to you then you are in one group. If you approve of the Tarp money and watch your stocks and consider that ultimately the solvency of the banks is a good thing then you are in the other group. If you live week to week and count each month you pay the mortgage a victory then you are in one group. If you don't think about your bills and wonder if you are going to get a bonus or a pay increase then obviously you are in the other.

If you are a straight commission salesperson of any kind then you are in one group. If you are in academia or under any kind of corporate umbrella then you are in the other group. If you don't go to the doctor or the dentist because you have no health care then you are in one group. If you go to get your teeth cleaned and get regular physicals and consider cosmetic surgery then clearly you are in the other group.

And if think the American Dream is rigged for the three percent of the people who make ninety seven percent of the money then you are in one group. And if you are the three percent that makes ninety seven percent of the money then you are laughing at the other ninety seven percent splitting up that paltry three percent.

And if you read this and think this is the way it is then you are in one group. And if you read this and haven't the faintest idea what I am talking about then clearly you are in the other.
