I WENT

I Went to Grant Park in Chicago to see the first black President.
I went to see if change was really possible in America. I went to see if people of all different colors, ethnicity, race, creed, religion could really come together. I went to see if the pundits were wrong and if change was just a dream. I went to see what kind of world my kids would inherit. I went to see if there is a chance to save the planet. I went to see if oil companies would still make billions off of us. I went to see if we all might have a chance at a health care program that won't drop us when we get sick. I went to see if we might be able to have dignity in a society that has only valued people by how much they earned. I went to see if an adminstration of fools and cheats might really be thrown out. I went to see if we might end a war that has cost thousands of lives and billions of dollars. I went to see if we might really put people back to work. I went to see if we could belive in a goverment of the people, for the people, and by the people. I went to see if hate mongering would continue. I went to see if corporations would still govern us. I went to see if hope was just a mirage. I went to see if the last chance of a democracy might really produce a new morning. I went...and I saw the dawn of a new era.
