The Politics of Fear

John McCain has pulled even. Barack and Joe are in retreat. The republicans are dancing in the street doing the Palin shimmy. She's a maverick and like John, la a, shes about change, ala ala and she can TALK! She'll kill Joe in the debate la la la. The fear mongers have done their dance as well. THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING. Hey, it's a little old but there is still a lot of mileage in this baby. Mr. Gorbechov TEAR DOWN THAT WALL OR ANYTHING ELSE STILL STANDING! Hey change the names and it still works...kind of. WE ARE ALL GEORGIANS TODAY. Ich Bin I Georgian! Well, something like that. You see if one dominoe falls then THEY ALL WILL FALL. Look what happened to Vietnam when we left! My friends my friends...THATS NOT CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN. That country was a dump when I was over there eating bugs to stay alive and now look at it...since the Communists took over, it's a beautiful prosperous country. That's not change we can believe in. You see, my friends, we have to fight them over there or they will be over here. It's not like we didnt' find any weapons of mass destruction over there. WE DIDNT. That's not change you can believe in. My friends, my opponent would have you belive that diplomacy and alliances with our allies is the answer. Look at the world today. We are the most hated nation on the planet...that's not change you can believe in. My friends, I know you won't go broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public and I KNOW they will fall for it one more time. You see my friends,we didn't lose the war in Vietnam, it was the bearded bums that lost if for that's not change we can belive in. So you see by my numbers I have convinced you that a skinny black man could never be a Commander in Cheif. It takes an old white man protecting the interests of other rich old white men with a rapacious small town female tearing down hope with the viciousness that only comes from a morally smug white woman--NOW THATS CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN!
